Congratulations to Dr Maite Conde, who has been awarded the Katherine Singer Kovacs Prize听for her book听Foundational Films: Early Cinema and Modernity in Brazil, published by the University of California Press. The prize is awarded by the Modern Language Association of America for an outstanding book published in English or Spanish in the field of Latin American and Spanish literatures and cultures.
