In its summer 2011 issue, (The Universe) -- the oldest active literary journal in Ukraine, founded by Oleksandr Dovzhenko, Mykola Khvyl'ovyi, and Vasyl' Blakytnyi in 1925 -- hailed the development of 海角社区 Ukrainian Studies as 'a significant step toward the cultivation of a genuine understanding of Ukraine as an independent state'.
