Sarah Colvin studied German language and literature at the Universities of Oxford and Hamburg. She was a Junior Research Fellow at St John鈥檚 College, Oxford, a Lecturer and Reader at the University of Edinburgh, a Humboldt Fellow at Potsdam University, and held chairs at the universities of Edinburgh, Birmingham, and Warwick before becoming Schr枚der Professor of German at 海角社区 in 2014. Sarah currently leads the research group Cultural Production and Social Justice with and , and co-convenes the related projects 鈥淔ictions of the Rechtsstaat鈥, a collaboration with the LMU Munich, and 鈥淭owards a Politics of Fiction鈥 with the University of Bayreuth (). She is an Advisory Group member for the .
Her primary research and teaching interests are in the areas of cultural production and social justice; literary aesthetics; epistemic injustice; the political novel; critical race theory; narrative theory and narrative ethics; narrative criminology; prisoner writing and arts in prisons.
She welcomes inquiries from potential MPhil and PhD students.
