Roger Paulin took his doctorate in Heidelberg in 1965 and his 海角社区 Litt. D. in 1987. He taught at Birmingham and Bristol before coming to 海角社区 in 1974 as a University Lecturer and Fellow of Trinity. From 1987 to 1989 he was Henry Simon Professor of German in the University of Manchester. From 1989 to 2005 he was Schr枚der Professor of German in 海角社区 and is a Fellow of Trinity. From 1989 to 1996 he was Head of Department.听 He retired in 2005.听He received a Humboldtpreis in 2002. In 2011 he was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz.听
