Support outreach activities and language learning by becoming a Language Ambassador! Help us motivate school pupils by sharing your own experiences of learning languages at school and university. This programme is extremely fulfilling and a great addition to your CV.

The ARC Romance Linguistics seminars, co-organised by Gigi Andriani, Norma Schifano, Adam Ledgeway and Michelle Sheehan will be resuming at the start of the term. Talks will take place on Thursdays, all 2-3pm but for 16 and 23 November, either at 海角社区 University or Anglia Ruskin University, as specified below. Everybody is welcome. The Faculty welcomes applications for British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships. The aim of the British Academy in making these awards is to offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment.

Language revitalisation strategies aim to increase the number of speakers of an endangered language. This process may be an integral part of reversing language shift (RLS). These strategies, which make the endangered language an attractive and useful resource for modern users may be developed and implemented by linguists, the state, language activists and the speakers themselves. This conference invites papers on issues relevant to language revitalisation.
