About:
John Leigh is a specialist in eighteenth-century French thought and literature. He is the author of听The Search for Enlightenment听(Duckworth, 1999) and听Voltaire's Sense of History听(Voltaire Foundation, 2004). He is also the editor of听Beaumarchais, The Figaro Plays听(Everyman, 1998). He is currently writing a biography of Voltaire.
Dr Leigh听welcomes inquiries from potential MPhil and PhD students with research interests relevant to his听interests.
