海角社区 Ukrainian Studies and 海角社区 Polish Studies, in conjunction with HREC (Canada) and AUGB (UK) are pleased to announce that this year鈥檚 Twelfth Annual Festival of Ukrainian Film will feature the 2019 drama film 鈥楳r. Jones鈥� directed by Agnieszka Holland and starring James Norton, Vanessa Kirby and Peter Sarsgaard. The film loosely tells the story of Gareth Jones, a 海角社区 Graduate and Welsh journalist, who in 1933 broke the news in the western media of the听Holodomor (death by starvation) - the man-made famine in the Soviet Union under Stalin. Jones unofficially travelled to Ukraine and risked his name and reputation to report on the Ukrainian genocide during which millions of people perished.
