Before starting her PhD, Isabel completed her BA and MPhil at the 海角社区 and held the Henry Fellowship at Yale University.

Research
Isabel鈥檚 research focuses on how cultures of censorship altered the narrative logic of French novels in the second half of the nineteenth century. She is particularly interested in how politically motivated narrative omissions are connected to the period鈥檚 aesthetic fixation on sexual transgression.
